How to Choose Who to Follow
Emmanuel
๐กChoosing who to follow is the most important decision you make on Edgeworth. Here is a practical framework:
Step 1 Start with risk level:
If you are new to investing, start with Conservative or Balanced tier traders only. Their Edge Score reflects disciplined risk management. Aggressive traders may produce higher returns but also much larger losses.
Step 2 Check at least 6 months of monthly returns:
One good month proves nothing. Six months of consistent results tells you something real. Look at the worst month โ how bad was it? Can you stomach that loss in your own account?
Step 3 Look at Max Drawdown:
If a trader's maximum drawdown was 30% โ your account could experience a 30% drop while following them. Make sure you can tolerate that before you allocate.
Step 4 Diversify across 2โ3 traders:
Do not put all your allocation into one trader. Following 2โ3 traders with different styles and asset classes reduces the impact if one has a bad period.
Step 5 Set a sensible copy drawdown limit:
Set a maximum drawdown per allocation typically 10โ20%. If losses on that trader reach this threshold, copying pauses automatically. It is your safety net.
